The Waring Pro DHR30 is a professional food dehydrator appliance that comes with a black exterior and five interlocking trays. You can also extend the number of trays to 9 total trays to keep all of your food items separated during the drying process.
You can even create delicious fruit leather (fruit roll-ups) with fresh food.
The DHR30 is also extremely affordable and comes with all of the items you need, minus the actual food, to get started dehydrating today. Before we go into our Waring Pro DHR30 professional dehydrator review, let’s take a look at some of the features this unit has to offer.

Waring Pro DHR30 Review
Smaller than I imagined, the DHR30 is just 14.7” x 12.4” x 11.8”, allowing for minimal counter space needed for storage. Just 7 pounds in weight, the unit has a black exterior with clear trays that you can see inside of during the drying process.
Note: A fruit roll-up sheet is included if you want to dry a fruit spread. Just remember to spray a little non-stick oil on the sheet prior to drying.
The top has a venting system to thoroughly dehydrate the food.
Placing the food in the trays is simple and easy with a lot of space for all of your food items. I recommend sorting foods on their own separate trays (5 are included) for the best results. And, if you’re serious about dried fruits and veggies or delicious beef jerky, you can purchase an additional 4 trays for a total of 9 trays that food can be dried on at one time.
The interlocking system keeps all of the trays in place.
On the front of the machine, you’ll find the operating knob that allows you to choose:
- Fan only
- Hi, medium and low
Having an off button is nice as some machines don’t include an off switch. Featuring 620W of power, you’ll be able to dehydrate everything from fruits to jerky and even herbs for later usage.
It’s a very easy appliance to use, and cleanup is a breeze. One thing I did want to note is that this unit is very quiet, which isn’t seen with most machines.
I was able to dry tomatoes in 2 – 3 hours, orange slices in 7 – 8 hours and jerky with ease using this machine.
- Extremely quiet
- Can be expanded to 9 trays
- Easy temperature control knob
- Temperature ranges are extreme
When I reviewed this product, I noticed that the temperature ranges were rather extreme. On the low setting, you can expect temperature to be 110F; medium temperatures are 140F; high temperatures are 175F.
The high temperatures are great for meats, but 110F is a little low for vegetables and fruits, while medium requires you to remain diligent and check your food often to ensure they don’t harden.
If you don’t mind the dehydration taking slightly longer on the low setting, I highly recommend it for fruits and veggies.
And for the low price, this is a great machine for beginners and intermediate users. Foods will be perfectly dehydrated with little noise production from the unit, and it’s also extremely affordable.
