The Excalibur brand made their mark on the food dehydrator industry with the company’s uniquely square and black unit design. A higher-end company with top-quality products, the Excalibur 3526TB looks like the 3926TB and the 3900B, but it’s a completely different model with a lot of unique features.
Perfect for families and those with small gardens, I couldn’t wait to test this model in my Excalibur 3526TB review.

Review of the Excalibur 3526TB
The 3526TB comes with all five trays, which you’ll immediately notice are sturdy and durable. Many circular models have flimsy trays that work well, but they break often and need to be replaced.
It’s also worth noting that the company does offer a 9 tray pack of non-stick sheets, which I recommend if you’re drying jams and jellies.
Stacking up the trays is a breeze, and you’ll notice that the closing door does fit a little loosely. This was designed to be that way, so it’s not a concern at all. Once you’ve added all of the foods you want to dry, this unit holds 8 square feet of food, you’ll simply close the door and move on to the controls on the top of the appliance.
And, there is a 26 hour digital timer, so you can set the time of drying to your exact preference.
When the unit is on and you’ve selected the temperature, you’ll notice that the 5” fan produces a decent amount of noise, but that is due to its fast RPM. Depending on the temperature setting, you’ll be able to dry most fruits and veggies in 3 – 8 hours and meats in 12+ hours depending on the cut and moisture level.
I made everything from banana chips to kale chips and beef jerky in this model. And the taste was nothing short of mouthwatering each and every time.
I simply love this food dehydrator.
- Built-in timer that shuts the unit off when finished.
- Wide variety of temperature controls allows for enzyme protection.
- Large holding capacity that’s perfect for the family that loves dried foods.
- Difficult to clean.
A lot of the noise produced has to deal with the fan that pushes the hot air evenly among trays for the perfect dehydration environment.
The Excalibur 3526TB is a high-end model that has everything you’ll ever want in a food dehydrator from a built-in timer to refined temperature controls and even dehydration. It’s touted as the appliance for families with a small garden. And the description is accurate. If you love dried foods, you’ll love the 3526TB.
